    • Project description

    • The work is essential to ensure a continued safe and reliable electricity network.

We will be replacing wires and other equipment on the line that runs between East Claydon and Iver, via Aylesbury and Amersham. The line has over 160 pylons and we’ll be working on all of these at some point during the project.

While we carry out this work, you may see the wires move more than usual and hear some noise from the overhead line. This is normal as part of our refurbishment and completely safe. We’ll also re-paint the pylons as this helps to protect the equipment from rust and weather damage.

We’ll be working on the line between Aylesbury and Amersham substation from August to November 2017.

Preparation works are being carried out by our contractor, Balfour Beatty. This includes vegetation clearance and hedge trimming. We’ll also be putting up scaffolding and other temporary equipment at some locations.

We do not anticipate our project will cause any major disruption. We will need to cross some private land to carry out the works and, where this is the case, we have been liaising with the relevant landowners. Similarly, where our work might affect individual homes or businesses, we will be working with them to minimise any inconvenience. The works will not affect local electricity supplies.
