Ecosystems are characterised by complex interdependencies. We depend on the natural environment, but also on the economic and social conditions around us. You cannot intervene in one dimension without considering the impacts in others, cannot preserve what seems most valuable without understanding the effect on other things we also value.
Consequently our commitment to “preserving” ranges from something as fundamental as reducing the carbon footprint of our business, through to the work we do with communities to conserve the natural and social features of their environments. It also embraces the measures we take to alleviate fuel poverty and other economic problems.
We want to ensure that our activity has as little impact as possible on the environment; reducing emissions, conserving resources and preserving ecosystems.
